Ferroflorales
are called
the new creations I´ve begun within 2000.
There are six objects finished yet, further are in planning. These plants
combinations are made from several metals, or only of irons. Some are
with glass and stone applications. They have got often a function: As
candleholder, lighter, champagne cooler or as a small bar.
Palm
The
biggest object is a mangrove palm, a wonderful plant that could be an
example for some gene technician ´cause there is nothing like
this till yet. The boardroots change into lianas, they reach a height
of 3,5 m up to the crown and it is completely made of irons. Because
of the total weight of approx. 200 kg, it consists from a dozen and
two parts. The tribe is splitable in the middle by two exactly fitting
tubes. The lower external tube has a diameter of 12 cm in where, like
a bayonet coupling, the upper tube is admitted. The twelve leaves are
hung up separately and reach lengths between 1.4 and 1.8 m.
Bar
The individual plant stems are fixed at a stone with a weight approx.
80 kg.
These three nuts palms (Pandanus) reach a height of 2.3 m, so that they
can be used in normal rooms.
These
three palms have an iron stem which is divided into small curved and
welded rungs. Two crowns are made from green stained copper. The middle
crown consists of brass leaves in whose middle contains a lamp, surrounded
by African glass beads. There are three more plants on the stone.
The bar plate is made of Verde Maritaca, a green break flagstone with
grinded edges. Between the table and the palm there is a net, made from
6 mm round bars wich can store 4 bottles of Champagne.
